Last year, I ended my birthday post with these words:
“This next chapter? It’s about living my purpose out loud. Creating impact. Expanding love. With conviction. With purpose. With deeper dedication to my WHY than ever before. Because this isn’t just about me. It’s about all of us. It’s about LOVE. Until next time, here’s to living your life by design, not default.”
And now, here I am. A year older. A whole lot wiser. A little less attached to who I thought I was. And even more in love with the woman I’m becoming.
As I reflect on 48, all I can say is… DAMN. I AM PROUD OF ME.
Not because I finally figured it all out… Definitely not that LOL🤪
But because of how I’ve shown up for myself through the shit I never saw coming.
This year has been a masterclass in surrender and letting go.
🫣 Shedding old thoughts, beliefs, and patterns.
🫣 Unbecoming identities assigned to me by other people.
🫣 Questioning the stories I’ve told myself about who I am, what I’m capable of, and what my life is supposed to look like.
🫣 Releasing SO much of what no longer serves me.
And remembering that everything I release creates space for something new.
Something more aligned. Something that actually feels like ME.
I saw a meme the other day that perfectly captures this past year:
“I’m having the calmest crashout of my life right now. Like, I’m going a little insane, but I’m also chilling and vibing.”
AND I FELT THAT. 😂 Because 48 was A LOT.
A lot of unexpected and uncertainty.
A lot of breakdowns and rebuilding.
A lot of sitting with uncomfortable truths and asking myself some very real questions.
There were moments when the life I thought I was building looked nothing like the life I was actually living.
There were plans that fell apart. Doors that closed. Seasons that demanded more faith than certainty. And moments when I had to remind myself that my circumstances do not define my worth, my purpose, or my potential.
I’ve spent so much of my life being the problem-solver. The one who sees the patterns, connects the dots, figures shit out, and finds a way forward.
Professionally, I’ve helped organizations navigate change, align people and strategy, and build systems that work better for humans.
Personally? Let’s just say the universe gave me a few opportunities to practice what I preach. 🙃
Turns out, knowing how to navigate change and actually LIVING through it are two very different things.
And yet, 48 has also been GLORIOUS. It’s been blessed, expansive, humbling, and full of love.
I’ve gotten even more clear about the work I want to do, the impact I want to make, and the kind of life I want to create. I’ve continued reshaping my business around the value I bring, the problems I solve, and the bigger picture I see when everyone else is busy being distracted.
I’ve been leaning deeper into the work that has always called me: helping people see what they can’t see for themselves, recognize the patterns keeping them stuck, and create meaningful change from the inside out.
And somewhere in the middle of all this becoming, I began writing my book!
Navigating Change… The Seismic Way.
A body of work born from more than two decades of professional experience, a lifetime of reinvention, and the belief that change doesn’t have to destroy us. It can become the catalyst for building something more aligned, more intentional, and more human.
I’m not just talking about transformation. I’m creating tools that can live beyond me. Things that can help other people navigate their own seismic shifts, in business and in life.
And that? THAT lights me up.🤩
I’ve also been learning to trust myself differently. To pay attention to my energy. To question my conditioning. To remember that alignment matters most. That rest has value. That I can be ambitious AND compassionate with myself. That I can want more for my life without making the life I have wrong.
Sometimes the art of becoming is simply taking away everything that isn’t YOU.
And through every high, every low, every plot twist, and every moment of WTF IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW…
LOVE HAS BEEN THE THREAD THROUGH IT ALL.
💝 The LOVE of my community. The people who have held space for me, believed in me, checked on me, laughed with me, encouraged me, and reminded me that I don’t have to have it all figured out and I am never alone.
💝 The LOVE I get to pour into the humans and animals who cross my path.
💝 And the LOVE I’m learning to give myself, not just when I’m thriving, achieving, creating, or showing up as the strongest person in the room. But also when I’m uncertain, tired, burning it all down, rebuilding, and even when I’m still figuring it out.
I am endlessly grateful for the people who have been part of this chapter. You know who you are. And whether you’ve been here for decades or just stumbled into my orbit, thank you for being part of my ecosystem.
We really are better when we make room for one another to be fully human.🥰
So, what does 49 look like?
MORE. More of what MATTERS.
✨ More writing. More creating. More bringing my book to life and getting it into the hands of the people who need it (Before my 50th Birthday!).
🌎 More adventures. More experiences. More memories. Including a trip to El Salvador! Because there’s a whole world out there, and I intend to experience more of it.
🔥 More purpose-driven work. More meaningful impact. More opportunities to help people and organizations create change that actually makes a difference.
💜 More love. More connection. More community. More experiences that remind me what this whole human experience is really about.
🌱 More expansion. More trust. More alignment. More becoming the woman who is ready for everything she’s building toward.
Because 49 isn’t just another trip around the sun… 49 is my runway to 50.
And I plan on arriving at 50 even more fully expressed. More grounded in who I am. More unapologetic about what I want. More intentional about where I invest my time, energy, and love.
I want to look back on this next year knowing I chose courage over conditioning, possibility over fear, and intention over autopilot. Not perfectly. And not without a few more plot twists, I’m sure. 😂
But consciously. Because if 48 taught me anything, it’s that I can release what I thought my life needed to look like without releasing the vision of what it can become.
I can be proud of how far I’ve come AND hungry for what’s next.
I can honor the woman who got me here while making room for the woman I’m still becoming.
And I can trust that even when I can’t see the whole picture, I can keep choosing the next aligned step.
So here’s to 49.
To the plot twists.
To the uncomfortable growth.
To the audacious dreams.
To the people who make life richer.
To the adventures waiting on the other side of YES.
To building something meaningful.
To loving ourselves and each other a little better along the way.
Still becoming. Still dreaming. Still building. And damn proud of the woman doing it.
Here’s to living our lives by design, not default.
Let’s rise up. Together.
❤️ Terica
